"I dream my painting, and I paint my dream."
Vincent Van Gogh was born in the Netherlands but was restless, moving frequently—from the Netherlands to Paris, Arles, and Saint-Rémy. His art reflects awe at the world, with dramatic, impulsive, and expressive brushstrokes. Although he passed away far too young from severe depression, he created nearly a thousand paintings over a ten-year period and is one of the foremost pioneers of modern art.
